She comes in a purpose made professional flight case. Her neck is perfectly straight & she has a really great action. However, as is common with these basses, over it’s 30+ years, the body has a developed a slight undulation around the table & sound hole, this is likely due to a lack of body bracing in the design & nearly all these basses have this going on! It will not progress & does not in anyway affect the action, playability or sound of the bass. Cosmetically, she is in excellent, unmarked condition with no scratches, buckle rash or fretwear at all. This Lovely Cherry Red Beasty is factory fitted with its transducer bridge saddle pickup & 3 band active tone booster EQ & really packs a punch, she is currently fitted with black nylon coated flatwound strings. These were a real 80’s Statement basses & have a unique & very cool look, with the angled headstock & asymmetrical body design. The KFB-2 were simpler in design, offered with dot Inlay only. The KFB-1 was the deluxe model, offered with a bound body, neck & headstock & diamond Inlays with a Kramer Inlay also included on the Fret Board at the 21st fret. New for late 87 was the KFB-1& KFB2 Basses. Ferrington designed all of the models of the Kramer Ferrington lines. Hehe.įor some close-up photos of this guitar, check out my Facebook page.In 1985-86, Kramer began it’s relationship with Danny Ferrington, the Nashville-based luthier who built several guitars for celebrities and, himself had became a reputable reputation for new designs of electric/acoustic guitars. Two videos in two days! That's what happens when I get a little free time. It has phosphor bronze strings on it and I'm inclined to stick with that alloy rather than the brighter 80/20 mixture that I normally use on my acoustics. It's an active piezo pickup under the bridge and it has a three-band EQ (lo-mid-hi) along with gain on the side panel. It's a solid spruce top with laminate maple back and sides, a bound maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and "beak" inlays (that's what I call them, though I think officially they're called "tooth" inlays). A week later this showed up in a beat-up Washburn case. There was a problem with their computers, but we got it straightened out pretty quickly. I immediately called the store and tried to buy it. Yo!! What's up, dudes?!?! So I was trolling the used sites a couple of weeks ago when this pile of total awesomeness appeared one afternoon.
